Russian Mezzosopran ANNASTEPANETS studied at the Academic Musical College State Conservatory in Moscow and the  State Musical Pedagogical Institute Ippolitov-Ivanov, and in 2019, she became a member of the  Young Ensemble at Semperoper Dresden, parallel studying with Prof. Matthias Henneberg at the  Conservatory for Music Carl Maria von Weber in Dresden 

 

Masterclasses for voice, interpretation and auditiontraining with Gudrun Bär, KS Brigitte Fassbaender, Hayk Grigoryan, Jolanta Nicolai, John Norris und Michael Paul completed her musical education.


In summer 2022, the young mezzo made her debut as MARY in Wagner's “Der Fliegende Holländer” with the Landbühne Sachsen at the Festival Felsenbühne Rathen; and in 2023, she will make her part-and theatre-debut as ANNIO in Mozart's “La Clemenza di Tito” under the baton of Andreas Hotz and in stage direction of Hendrik Müller at Theater Osnabrück, to which she returned highly successful as Mrs. SEDLEY in Britten's "Peter Grimes" in 23/24.

From 24/25 on, Mrs Stepanets will join the ensemble of a German theatre, singing there among others CHERUBINO in Mozarts "Le Nozze di Figaro" and HÄNSEL in Humperdinck's "Hänsel & Gretel".



ASemperoper Dresen, Anna Stepanets embodied the 2. DAME in Mozart's “Die Zauberflöte”, DELIA in Rossini's “Il Viaggio a Reims” and TISBE in “La Cenerentola”, FRAU MARTIN in Luciano Chailly's “Die kahle Sängerin”, KATE PINKERTON in Puccini's “Madama Butterfly” and FLORA in Verdi's “La Traviata”; and has sung in Conncerts compositions by MendelssohnMeyerbeerGounod and Rossini


In addition, her studied and / or in excerpts sung repertoire includes the parts of CHERUBINO in Mozart's “Le Nozze di Figaro”, STÉPHANO in Gounod's “Roméo & Juliette”, ROSINA in Rossini's “Il Barbiere di Siviglia”, SESTO in Mozart's “La Clemenza di Tito” and SESTO in Händel's “Giulio Cesare in Egitto”, as well as OCTAVIAN in R. Strauss’ “Der Rosenkavalier”. 

 

Concert-commitments included Song-Recitals and Oratoria-works by MozartGounodGershwin and V. Solovyov-Sedoi, which Mrs. Stepanets among others performed in the Concert-Hall Kárlovy Váry, at the Arena Moscow Nights  and the  König Albert Theatre in Bad Elster.


The young artist was winner of the 2nd Award at the <International Sergej Prokofieff Young Performers Competition>, as well as of the 1st Award at the <Pushkin Youth Arts Festival>; and she was a Quarter-Finalist at the International Hans Gabor Belvedere Singing Competition 2022 in Jurmala.


 

Anna Stepanets had the pleasure, to work with conductors and stage directors such as Jonathan Darlington, Gaetano d’Espinosa, Achim Freyer, Moritz Gnann, Barbara Horáková, Andreas Homoki, Gábor Káli, Josef E. Köpplinger, Felix Krieger, Francesco Lanzilotta, Stefano Ranzani, Laura Scozzi oder Johannes Wulff-Woesten.
